I am looking to replace an existing 5 HP 1800 RPM motor with something a little more washdown resistant. I currently have a Teco Westinghouse motor but the motor is all rusted and is failing. I need a motor that will be resistant to a heavy washdown environment, this motor get power washed with cleaning agents every 8 hours any suggestions?
@ Peterking92 It sounds like you are using a standard motor that is does not have any wash down protective coating or sealing. You may want to consider a wash down duty motor but considering the number of times you are washing the motor and I’m sure the cleaning agent you are using is having some type of adverse effect on the material of the motor I would suggest going full stainless steel frame material.
