Choose a worm gearbox when you are dealing with a less critical application,they are less efficient and tend not to last as long as a helical bevel.
Worm boxes are very economical, however very inefficient. The worm gear needs replacing after a certain amount of time. Helical Bevel reducers are superior in efficiency, performance and will last longer in service.
